We were delighted to welcome the Minister for Education, Hildegarde Naughton, to St. Dympna’s National School on Thursday, the 22nd of January.
This was a huge honour for our school. Minister Naughton cut the ribbon to officially open our second Autism classroom for September 2026. Minister Naughton was very complimentary about the inclusive atmosphere present in the school.
The Minister was presented with a bouquet of flowers from members of our Student Council and took a look over our school extension plans, which will cater for children with additional needs as well as support the future growth of the entire school.
Minister Naughton also met with members of the school’s Board of Management and Parents Association. Following this, Minister Naughton visited all of our classrooms and met all of our children. She was very impressed with the questions our children had for her and gave fantastic responses.
Thank you also to TD David Maxwell, Councillor Alan Johnston, Councillor Pauric Clerkin and Senator Robbie Gallagher for being present on the visit also and for their support.
